Terms and Conditions

These terms cover the StintLane app, this website, your account and license keys. By creating an account, buying a license or using StintLane, you agree to them.

Who we are

StintLane is made by thepublicgood (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at makers@thepublicgood.dev.

Your account

You need an account to get a trial key and to buy and manage licenses. Give us a real email address and keep your password safe; you're responsible for what happens in your account. You can delete it at any time from your account settings.

Trial

Every new account gets one free trial key, with every feature, valid for 14 days from when you verify your email address. A trial key works on one Mac. Please don't create extra accounts to get more trials.

Licenses

When you buy a license, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use StintLane under these terms.

• A license key can be active on up to 2 Macs that you use. You can move it by deactivating one Mac and activating another.
• A license is a one-off purchase with no subscription. It keeps working for good on the versions you're entitled to.
• It includes a year of updates. Versions released after the date shown next to your key in your account need a new license.
• Don't share, resell or publish your key, and don't try to get around license checks.

We may deactivate a key that's been shared, published, bought fraudulently or refunded.

Purchases and refunds

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the merchant of record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle's buyer terms apply to your purchase, including your right to a refund.

If StintLane isn't working for you, get in touch within 14 days of buying and we'll help, or arrange a refund through Paddle.

Using StintLane

StintLane records activity on your Mac. Use it only on Macs you're allowed to monitor, and if anyone else uses your Mac, make sure they know it's running. You're responsible for complying with any laws that apply to recording activity where you are.

Don't reverse engineer, modify or redistribute StintLane except where the law allows it, and don't misuse this website or the license server, for example by overloading it or trying to access other people's accounts.

Your data

The activity StintLane records stays on your Mac and belongs to you. We never receive it, so we can't back it up or recover it. Keep your own backups if it matters to you. Our Privacy Policy explains the account and license information we do keep.

No warranty

We work hard to make StintLane accurate and reliable, but it's provided “as is”. We don't promise it will be free of errors, work without interruption or record every moment of your time. Check its figures before relying on them for anything important, such as billing a client.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or time, arising from your use of StintLane. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for your license. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be excluded by law.

Ending these terms

You can stop using StintLane and delete your account at any time. If you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, we may close your account and deactivate your keys. The sections on warranty and liability continue to apply after that.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and tell you by email if a change is significant. Changes don't reduce what a license you've already bought includes.
